SisterBatik loves to fill spaces and be a part of creating engaging and warm homes - so we were very flattered when an interior design firm approached us with the possibility of providing pillows and accessories for their clients. 

Because we enjoy what we do so much and pour our racing hearts into it, every step is a thrilling experience.  We would be very happy to hear from any interior designers who are interested in bringing SisterBatik to their clients and aesthetics.

This week, when reams of personalised SisterBatik labels arrived in our letterbox, I must admit to just the fraction of tears.  There is a moment in movie writing, where there is a direction "The music swells"; to evoke an overcoming of feeling - this was one of those moments.  I share this pride, joy, excitement and vintage cotton bobbins with you all.

Creating a gentle ripple.....Handmade Spark

Zambezi stripes

When we see a print we like, our eyes fire a billion neurone tracts to our imagination and we are taken into some far off thought-land. So you must allow us to indulge. For what is loving something if you cannot indulge it alittle?

This print instantly made us think Out of Africa - tucked on some vast game plain, under the cool canopy of a tent or safari lodge. On the masai plains, lions majestic and resting between their kill, zebras proud in their famous lines, a plated-rhino snorting fierce. And like the life-blood flowing through the many great African game countries, is the great river, the Zambezi.  That's why we called it Zambezi stripes!

Japonais Snow Flower

We were very excited to get hold of this new batik which reminds us of the recent snowfall and the serenity of the Japanese snow flower.  It is a designer batik by Julius Holland, renowned for their high quality wax print batiks. The weave means that the cotton is slightly heavier than most/ regular wax print batiks.

It's All White.........

It is rare that we get such timely snowfall to coincide with the festivities. If it does come, it is usually in the new year.  With a delighted young heart, SisterBatik is revelling in the pretty blanket of white and yesterday, wrapped up warm to kick about and pirouette in the snow.  Here are some images I took to share - with love from SisterBatik xx

Now that we have stepped into December and a day of falling snow, phat snowflakes on our noses, we can gleefully hop, skip and jump into the excitement of the season's festivities!!  But just a gentle reminder if you are planning to make purchases as gifts - please take heed of delivery dates........

NOTICE of Christmas Shipping!

UK Royal Mail have issued these last recommended shipping dates if you want to receive your items by the festivities:

Friday 10 December - International Airmail to USA, Canada and Eastern Europe

Monday 6 December - International airmail to South and Central America, Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East, Australia & New Zealand

Monday 13 December - International airmail to Western Europe.

These are recommended dates, we will still ship items purchased after these dates, but expect delays to the normal shipping schedule and please don't be cross with Santa!
